Fastarc G-1 vs C-1 and S-1? Which NITTAKU Fastarc is right for you?
Which NITTAKU Fastarc is right for you?
Fastarc G-1, C-1 or S-1?
You want to play a NITTAKU Fastarc, but you are not sure whether G-1, C-1 or S-1 suits your game better?
Here you can find out quickly and clearly which NITTAKU Fastarc suits your playing style - in terms of firmness, spin, speed, feel and support in play.
Because even though all three rubbers belong to the same Fastarc series, they clearly play differently.
The main difference lies in
-
Hardness
-
Catapult
-
Trajectory
-
Feel for the ball
-
Support during play
It is precisely these points that determine whether a rubber feels right for you or whether you have to constantly work against your material.
1. Which Fastarc suits you best? The quick answer
Fastarc G-1
for players who are looking for a lot of spin, a direct feel and high stability.
Fastarc C-1
for players who want to play offensively but like a little more catapult and a lighter feel.
Fastarc S-1
for players looking for a more dynamic feel with more speed and a lot of support, especially on softer topspins.
2. what is the difference between G-1, C-1 and S-1?
Fastarc G-1
The G-1 is the more direct and stable version of the three rubbers.
It has a harder sponge with 47.5°, a lot of grip thanks to the grippy surface and a slightly higher trajectory. It also has a more controlled catapult. This makes it particularly interesting for players who work actively and want clear, reliable ball contact.
Fastarc C-1
The C-1 is noticeably so fter than the G-1.
With a sponge hardness of around 45°, it plays more elastic, catapulty and somewhat more accessible. The trajectory is slightly flatter than the G-1, which makes the rubber more dynamic and supports offensive play a little more from the material without becoming unstable.
Fastarc S-1
The S-1 is the fastest and most catapulting version.
It has 45° sponge hardness, a stronger catapult and a flatter trajectory. The pimples are a little further apart on the S-1, giving the rubber more catapult. It conveys a lot of feeling, especially with softer topspins and dynamic rallies. It reacts more sensitively than the G-1 in fast rallies and is the fastest of all Fastarc rubbers.
Fastarc in direct comparison
| Hardness | Speed | Spin | |
| Fastarc G-1 | 47,5° | 15,0 | 12,5 |
| Fastarc C-1 | 45° | 15,25 | 12,25 |
| Fastarc S-1 | 45° | 15,5 | 11,75 |
Difference in feel
-
G-1: direct, stable, spin-oriented
-
C-1: softer, more dynamic, more catapulting
-
S-1: even more catapulting, sensitive ball bounce
How the Fastarc rubbers differ in terms of trajectory

Difference between Fastarc C-1 and S-1 - identical sponge, but different pimple structure

Both rubbers use the same sponge with 45° hardness. With Fastarc S-1, however, the distances between the pimples are larger. This makes the surface feel softer and the S-1 has more catapult.
The closer pimples on the Fastarc C-1 give the rubber more stability and reduce the catapult effect a little. This makes it feel a little harder, although both rubbers have the same sponge.
Fastarc G-1 - Which players is it suitable for?
The Fastarc G-1 suits you particularly well if you:
-
play offensively
-
want to generate a lot of spin
-
like a direct, clear feel
-
value stability
-
are looking for a rubber that remains stable even at higher speeds
How the Fastarc G-1 feels in play
The ball contact is full, direct and clear.
The G-1 does not react frantically and does not simply shoot the ball out uncontrollably. Instead, you get clear feedback on your own technique. This feels very controlled, especially with the first topspin and spinny openings. The slightly higher flight curve also helps you to lose fewer points through net errors.
How does the Fastarc G-1 support your technique?
The G-1 helps you to apply pressure in an active and controlled manner.
It helps you to take the ball cleanly, build up spin and control the length well. For many offensive players, this is precisely the reason why the G-1 feels so reliable. It is not for nothing that it is one of the most popular rubbers in Japan.
By the way: Mima Ito and Masataka Marizonio play the G-1 - Mima Ito plays the Fastarc G-1 on the forehand together with the short pimple Moristo SP on the backhand. A very popular combination for a very varied offense.

Fastarc C-1 - Does this rubber suit you?
The Fastarc C-1 suits you well if you:
-
want to play offensively
-
do not like a very hard rubber
-
are looking for a little more catapult
-
prefer a slightly lighter, more dynamic feel
-
are looking for a good middle ground between direct-hard and soft-lively
How the C-1 feels in play
The C-1 plays more elastic and slightly softer than the G-1.
The ball comes off the racket a little more lively and catapult-like. This ensures a pleasant offensive feeling without the rubber becoming unstable. Players who find the G-1 a little too direct often feel more comfortable with a little more catapult.
How does the C-1 support you?
The C-1 helps you to attack dynamically and with a little more ease.
Especially with compact movements and active offensive actions, the additional catapult helps you to pick up speed more easily. If you need to save a little power from time to time, the Fastarc C-1 is a great choice.

Fastarc S-1 - Who is it suitable for?
The Fastarc S-1 is useful for you if you:

-
play offensively but don't want a rubber that is too direct

-
like a livelier ball bounce
-
don't really warm up to harder rubbers
How the S-1 feels when playing
The Fastarc S-1 plays soft, bouncy and dynamic.
The ball contact is more pleasant and somewhat softer than with the G-1 and C-1. It has a very fluid feel, especially with softer topspins and controlled offensive actions. In fast rallies, however, it requires a little more sensitivity.
How does the S-1 support you?
The S-1 supports you by giving you more speed but at the same time a lot of feel.
It is particularly helpful if you want to build up your game not only through hardness and directness, but also through timing, dynamics and a pleasant ball contact.
