Our recommended rubber for offensive players who want to add more control to their topspin game
If you want to build your game around active topspins, you need equipment that not only gives you speed but, above all, a clear feel for the ball. This equipment recommendation combines a responsive carbon blade with a powerful forehand and a controlled backhand.
This material is a good fit for you if you:
✅ play offensively and like to open with topspin
✅ want to gain more confidence when facing backspin on your first topspin
✅ want a carbon blade that’s stable but doesn’t feel hard or erratic
✅ are looking for a direct rubber on your forehand for active, high-spin topspins
✅ want to stay offensive on your backhand, without having to worry about every little mistake
This might not be the right fit for you if:
❌ are just starting out
❌ are looking for a very soft, slow all-around rubber
❌ prefer a highly catapult-like rubber that generates a lot of speed on its own
❌ want to play with very hard and direct rubbers on both sides
❌ build your game almost exclusively around blocks, pushes, and passive control
This bundle includes:
Blade: Nittaku Acoustic Carbon Inner G-Revision
Forehand rubbers: Nittaku Fastarc G-1
Backhand rubber: Nittaku Blastac
Many offensive players are familiar with this: In practice, the first topspin always comes off well and with power. But in a competitive match, your arm tends to get a little more cautious. This is exactly where equipment that makes ball contact clearly noticeable, consistently supports your topspin, and provides enough confidence on your backhand to stay actively involved in the rally comes in handy.
Game Features
Blade: Nittaku Acoustic Carbon Inner G-Revision
If carbon blades feel too hard or too direct when hitting topspin shots, you’ll quickly lose confidence during the rally. You’ll stop going all out and instead hold back slightly because you’re unsure of yourself.
The Acoustic Carbon Inner G-Revision offers a very responsive feel. The carbon fibres are positioned on the inside, which makes the stroke feel more responsive and less harsh than with very direct carbon blades. At the same time, the blade remains aggressive and stable enough to build up pressure on topspin shots.
At the table, you'll notice this most of all during the opening serve against an underspin return, when following up on a block, and in fast topspin rallies. Your contact with the ball feels cleaner, more controlled, and less frantic. This helps you guide the ball more deliberately and play more boldly, even in competitive matches.
The grip on all G-Revision woods is slightly thicker and more oval in shape. This can help players who like to hold the club securely and are looking for more confidence when switching quickly between forehand and backhand.
Forehand rubber: Nittaku Fastarc G-1
If your first topspin against a backspin shot in a league match sometimes goes too far or lacks quality, you’ll automatically become more cautious. Instead of hitting the ball decisively, you’ll shorten your stroke and give your opponent more time.
The Fastarc G-1 is ideal for players who want to actively generate topspin on their forehand. It offers a direct, crisp, and fairly controlled feel in the catapult. The grippy surface helps you make clean contact with the ball and generate maximum spin.
The 47.5° hard sponge requires active movement, but in return gives you precise feedback at the point of contact. So the G-1 won’t help you if you just wait passively. It helps you when you play actively, using your arm swing, body movement, and a clear forward motion.
The G-1 feels particularly well-balanced on the Acoustic Carbon Inner G-Revision: The blade provides a slightly smoother ball contact, while the forehand rubber delivers the necessary directness and spin for an active topspin game.
Backhand rubber: Nittaku Blastac
If you actually want to play more aggressively on your backhand but often just play it safely back or block it during a match, it’s usually due to a lack of confidence. You know you could hit a backhand topspin, but sometimes you’re afraid of making unnecessary errors.
Many offensive rubbers are quite challenging to play, especially on the backhand. If the rubber reacts very hard, very directly, or with a lot of catapult effect, the ball contact feels brief and uncertain. This makes blocks, quick counterattacks, and backhand openings less consistent, especially if the contact point isn’t quite clean.
The Blastac deliberately takes some of the pressure out of this situation on the backhand. Its medium-hard 45° sponge allows the ball to sink noticeably and provides a more controlled feel. The grippy topsheet helps you generate spin without having to hit every ball with full power.
At the table, you'll notice this in backhand topspins, active blocks, and quick wrist shots. You'll be able to place the ball more effectively, stay calmer during longer rallies, and feel more in control of the ball.
In this combination, the Blastac complements the Fastarc G-1 very well. The forehand remains clearly geared toward power and topspin, while the backhand brings more consistency, feel, and error tolerance to the game.
Who is it for?
This bundle is designed for experienced offensive players who like to build their game around topspin. It’s especially useful if you want to apply active pressure on your forehand but are also looking for a blade that doesn’t feel too hard or unstable at the moment of contact.
It also works well if you play aggressively in practice but sometimes take a more cautious approach in competitive matches. The Acoustic Carbon Inner G-Revision gives you a stable yet responsive foundation. The Fastarc G-1 supports your active forehand topspin with clear feedback. The Blastac makes your backhand more controlled and helps you stay on the offensive during rallies, even under pressure.
If you frequently start with a topspin serve, follow through actively, and want to use your backhand for more than just defence, this bundle is a great choice for your equipment.
Who is this not really suitable for?
If you're still a beginner or, more importantly, looking for a very slow rubber, this combination is probably too aggressive. The blade and the Fastarc G-1 require a certain level of basic technique, especially when playing active topspin.
Even if you want strong self-propulsion on both sides, this setup might not give you the right feel for the game. The Fastarc G-1 is more direct and controlled. It rewards active movement but doesn't play the ball out quickly on its own.
On the other hand, if you're looking for a very hard, uncompromisingly direct setup, the Blastac might feel too controlled on your backhand. It's better suited for players who want to make their backhand offense more reliable and consistent, not for players who are primarily looking for maximum power on that shot.
What sponge thickness should I choose?
The sponge thickness plays a major role in determining how aggressively or controlled this blade rubber combination ultimately plays. As a general rule: The thicker the sponge, the more speed, spin, and power you get. At the same time, the material becomes more demanding.
For the forehand with the Fastarc G-1 , 2.0 mm is a great choice if you’re already comfortable playing topspin and actively follow through on your stroke. You’ll get enough power and spin without having to go straight for the most challenging option.
If your forehand is very consistent and you want to get the most out of your racquet head, MAX can also be a good choice. However, you'll need to have a solid technique and good timing.
If you want a little more control on your forehand or often have trouble with the length of your topspins, 1.8 mm is the better choice. The rubber remains offensive but is easier to control.
For the backhand with the Blastac , 1.8 mm is the most balanced option for many players. You get enough speed for backhand topspins, aggressive blocks, and counterattacks, while still maintaining a controlled feel.
If your backhand is already very solid and you want to intentionally generate more power with it, you can choose 2.0 mm.
If you're looking for extra confidence on your backhand, frequently find yourself in blocking situations, or want to make your backhand approach shot even more consistent, 1.4 mm is a good option. You'll lose a bit of speed and power, but you'll gain more stability and control in return.
A solid recommendation for many offensive players:
Available: Fastarc G-1, 2.0 mm
Backhand: Blastac, 1.8 mm thick
If your forehand is your strongest shot and you want to focus on making your backhand more consistent:
Available: Fastarc G-1 in 2.0 mm or MAX
Backhand: Blastac in 1.8 mm or 1.4 mm
Conclusion
This bundle is designed for offensive players who want to add more consistency to their topspin without sacrificing power. The Acoustic Carbon Inner G-Revision provides a smooth, stable feel for the ball. The Fastarc G-1 supports active forehand topspins, while the Blastac makes the backhand more controlled and forgiving.
This combination isn't intended for players who are simply looking for the fastest rubber. It's best suited for players who want to apply pressure with topspin but need a controlled and predictable feel.
