Mima Ito's Equipment – blade and the top player's rubbers in a value set
If you want to play with Mima Ito’s equipment, you don’t have to go out of your way to find the blade and rubbers separately. This bundle combines the Mima Ito Carbon with the Fastarc G-1 on the forehand and the Moristo SP on the backhand—perfect for an offensive style of play close to the table.
This material is a good fit for you if you:
✅ you want to play Mima Ito's style faithfully
✅ you play an aggressive game and actively open with topspin on your forehand
✅ you want to block, counterattack, or attack directly from the table on your backhand
✅ you want to deliberately use short pimples on your backhand
This might not be the right fit for you if:
❌ if you mainly play high-spin topspins with inverted pimples on your backhand
❌ if you exclusively play long topspin rallies from mid-range or long range
❌ if you're still a beginner
❌ if you've only played with inverted pimples so far and don't want to switch to short pimples
A Closer Look at Mima Ito's Equipment
Why This Combination Works Well Together
Mima Ito plays a very aggressive, high-pressure game at the table. To do this, she needs enough spin on her forehand for the initial attack and, on her backhand, a direct rubber that allows her to block and counter quickly and keep the pace high.
That is exactly what this material is designed for:
The Mima Ito Carbon provides a stable and direct foundation. The Fastarc G-1 supports spin-heavy topspins and reliable opening shots on the forehand. The Moristo SP complements the combination on the backhand with a flat, direct ball bounce for fast play at the table.
This results in a combination of equipment that fits a clear playing style: open the rally with a spinning forehand, take the backhand early, pick up the pace, and put pressure on your opponent.
Blade: Mima Ito Carbon
The Mima Ito Carbon forms the basis of this material combination and plays a key role in determining how responsive and stable the racket feels during play.
If you play offensively, you need more than just speed. Above all, you need a blade that feels predictable even during fast rallies. This is exactly where the carbon construction comes in. It ensures stability at the point of contact and supports a consistent feel, even when you’re actively accelerating.
This is especially helpful if you want to not only place your shots with precision but also build up pressure intentionally.
You can choose between a concave or straight handle:
Forehand rubber: Fastarc G-1
On her forehand, Mima Ito plays with the Fastarc G-1 in MAX.
The Fastarc G-1 is a great choice for players who want to actively initiate their first topspin against backspin. Its grippy surface helps you make clean contact with the ball and generate plenty of spin.
This is especially helpful when you want to not only open the rally safely but also apply pressure right away. The rubber doesn’t feel overly springy. This makes it easy to gauge the ball’s bounce, which is particularly important in serve-and-return situations and on the first attack.
If your topspins against backspin sometimes end up being too cautious, or if you're not accelerating the ball consistently enough, the Fastarc G-1 offers a good balance of spin, stability, and direct feedback.
Backhand rubber: Moristo SP
On her backhand, Mima Ito also plays the Moristo SP in MAX.
The Moristo SP is an offensive short-pimple rubber designed for players who like to hit the ball early and play directly from the backhand side. It is particularly well-suited for blocks, counterattacks, and quick returns close to the table.
Compared to a traditional inverted pimple rubber, the ball feels like it makes more direct contact. The ball bounces flatter and faster, giving your opponent less time to react. At the same time, in many situations, a short pimples is slightly less susceptible to your opponent’s spin. This can be particularly helpful when blocking and countering high-spin topspins.
But here’s the important thing: If you’ve only ever played with pimpled-in rubbers before, the feel of the game will change significantly. You’ll need to adjust your racket angle, timing, and stroke technique slightly. So it’s normal to need some time to get used to it.
The Moristo SP is particularly interesting if your backhand isn't defined primarily by high-spin topspins, but rather by speed, placement, blocking, and direct pressure at the table.
Who is this material intended for?
This bundle is especially well-suited for experienced club players, ambitious offensive players, and, of course, fans of Mima Ito.
This is especially a good fit if you:
Open the rally with an active forehand shot using spin
you want to play the opening not only safely but also aggressively
on your backhand, you like to position yourself close to the table early on
deliberately uses blocks, counterattacks, and quick counter-shots
if you want to play with a short pimples on your backhand
you're looking for a pre-assembled set instead of putting together the blade and toppings yourself
This combination is particularly appealing to players who want to set up points early or decide them right at the table. It’s less suited to a passive, control-oriented style of play and better suited to an active, fast-paced style of play.
Who is Mima Ito's material generally not suitable for?
This material isn't the right choice if you prefer classic pimpled-in rubbers on both sides and hit a lot of high-spin topspins, especially on your backhand.
Even if you mostly play from mid-distance or far behind the table, this combination can seem too direct. The Moristo SP is clearly designed for playing close to the table early in the rally, not for long topspin duels with a high arc.
This combination is also only suitable for beginners to a limited extent. It requires good ball feel, precise timing, and a willingness to adapt to playing the backhand with short pimples. Therefore, we generally do not recommend this combination for beginners.
What sponge thickness should you choose?
Mima Ito uses both rubbers at MAX. This is the choice that most closely matches the original and offers the highest speed and the greatest dynamism within this combination.
MAX is a good choice if you're already playing at a higher level, actively working on improving your speed, and want to stick as closely as possible to Mima Ito's equipment choices.
If you're looking for a little more control, thinner sponge thicknesses might be a good choice. Less sponge generally means slightly less speed and power, but it provides a more controlled feel.
For your reference:
MAX: For experienced offensive players who want to play as close as possible to Mima Ito's style
Approx. 2.0 mm: for players who play offensively but want a little more control
Thinner sponge thicknesses: for players who want to reduce speed and better control the ball's bounce
If you're playing with a short-pimpled rubber on your backhand for the first time, it might be a good idea to use a slightly more controlled sponge thickness. This often makes the transition easier.
Save time and money with the bundle
If you've already decided on Mima Ito's equipment, you don't have to shop around separately for the blade , and rubbers. You'll receive all three components in a matching set and save money compared to buying them individually.
Upon request, we’ll install the rubbers for you free of charge. Please allow an additional 1–2 business days for this. That way, you’ll receive a racket that’s ready to play with, and you can head straight to the table with your new equipment.
If you also need edge tape, simply add your preferred model to your cart. Before installation, we’ll automatically check whether the width matches your racket and, if necessary, replace it with a more suitable option.
Conclusion
The Mima Ito Rubber Bundle is ideal if you prefer an aggressive style of play close to the table and want to play with a rubber combination that’s as close to the original as possible.
You’ll get a well-balanced combination of sturdy carbon-wood, a high-spin forehand rubber, and a direct, short-pimple rubber for the backhand. This bundle is especially well-suited if you like to actively open the rally with your forehand and apply early pressure on the backhand.
On the other hand, if you play with classic pimpled-in rubbers on both sides or are looking for a particularly forgiving racket, a different combination is probably a better choice.
