Nittaku Violin Carbon – extra speed and stability for active attacking play
Do you enjoy the flexible feel of the Nittaku Violin, but want a more direct, stable response when attacking at speed? The Violin Carbon adds outer FE carbon layers to the thin Violin construction. It is designed for attacking players who want extra pace without giving up a flexible feel.
The Violin Carbon could suit you if you:
-
Play an attacking game with topspins and counter-topspins
-
Want a more direct and stable blade than the standard Violin
-
Want a fast blade that is still easy to control
-
Prefer clear feedback at ball contact
It may be less suitable if you:
-
Want an extremely fast and stiff blade
-
Prefer an especially soft and flexible feel – in that case, the all-wood Violin may be a better choice
-
Want a slow blade for controlled or mostly passive play
Playing characteristics of the Nittaku Violin Carbon
The Violin Carbon is a five-ply blade with two outer FE carbon layers.
Compared with the standard Violin, the Violin Carbon is more direct and offers greater pace.
The carbon fibres increase speed and stability without completely masking the flexibility characteristic of the Violin range. The Violin Carbon feels noticeably more flexible than a typical carbon blade. It is therefore a particularly good option for making the switch to carbon. The change from all-wood to the Violin Carbon is less dramatic than with many other carbon blades.
Who is the Violin Carbon for?
This blade is particularly interesting for advanced attacking players who like the classic Violin but would welcome extra speed and a firmer, more stable contact. It is especially well suited to players who actively accelerate the ball. In fast topspin exchanges and counter-topspin rallies, the more stable construction helps maintain clear feedback even at higher speeds.
Who is it less suitable for?
If you particularly appreciate the soft impact and pronounced flexibility of the standard Violin, the Violin Carbon is not simply the same blade with a little extra speed.
The outer carbon changes the feel noticeably, although it does not become as stiff as many other carbon blades.
If maximum control or a particularly soft feel is your priority, the classic Violin is likely to be a better fit.

Our verdict on the Violin Carbon
The Nittaku Violin Carbon is a good choice if the standard Violin feels too soft or slow and you deliberately want more directness, stability and pace. If preserving the exceptionally soft Violin feel is your priority, the classic all-wood version will suit you better.
The new Violin Carbon – carbon power with excellent touch.
To offset the loss of speed associated with newer plastic balls, the Nittaku Violin blade has also been given carbon layers. Very fine carbon was chosen to retain the familiar refined feel of the Violin blade while increasing stiffness and enlarging the sweet spot.
